Uniting what’s next in Intelligent Traffic

As a global leader for intelligent traffic solutions, we connect the dots of a new mobility revolution.

With digitalization and the use of disruptive technologies we enable cities, highway authorities, and (mobility) operators to create a new world of mobility with vehicles that are shared and connected, autonomous tunnel automation, smart tolling and adaptive traffic systems for simulation and prediction. All that allows for a totally new level of traffic management that is truly proactive.

This will transform our cities into places where people can live, work and move more freely with better quality of life, less accidents and with cleaner air. With our expertise and our solutions, we contribute to solving our climate crisis.

Urban mobility must and will change. And we will lead the way!

We are seeking a Mid to Senior-Level Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure automation, cloud technologies, and system integration. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our ICT systems to support mission-critical infrastructure projects, including tunnel automation and intelligent transport systems.

What will be my responsibilities?

  • Design, develop, and implement on-premise virtualization environments using VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related technologies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in planning, designing, and integrating complex ICT systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
  • Deploy, configure, test, and upgrade VMware-based virtualization solutions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, particularly Nakivo Backup & Replication, to ensure data protection and business continuity.
  • Administer and optimize SAN/NAS storage solutions to support virtualization infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design documents, specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and troubleshooting of networking and ICT system issues, ensuring effective resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry cybersecurity standards, including IEC 62443, by designing, configuring, and securing ICT systems to mitigate cyber threats.
  • Implement security controls, including access management, encryption, patch management, and firewall rules, to protect infrastructure from vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with security teams and auditors to conduct risk assessments and security reviews, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Puppet to improve system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize ICT system requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and collaborate with external partners and vendors.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure systems, including on-premises VMware virtualization environments.
  • Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and virtual networking.
  • Hands-on experience in backup and recovery solutions, preferably Nakivo Backup & Replication.
  • Proficiency in networking concepts, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and network security.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and SAN/NAS storage solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting complex infrastructure and networking issues.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including IEC 62443 compliance, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Graylog, Splunk, ELK) is preferred.
  • Experience in intelligent transport systems (ITS) and tunnel projects is a plus.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – VMware vSphere certification.
