The pre-tenders function is critical to supporting growth and driving excellence with our customers across the APAC Region.  The Department Head will own and drive compliance to  the Precontracts Process based on best practice methodologies and coordinate responses to all key tenders within the region. They will work with local teams across Australia, New Zealand and Asia to drive quality and consistency in all submissions aligned with customer requirements and internal governance standards.

The function is required to lead and implement continuous improvement processes that ensure our business is a global leader in Intelligent Transport Systems.  To support this the Department Head need to maintain close and collaborative relationships with all internal departments, such as business development, procurement, engineering, project management, solutions and products.  The expectation is also to be involved in business development activities and projects (as required). 

Stakeholders include, but will not be limited to, the Yunex Traffic Management team and departments in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and the APAC region; Yunex Traffic HQ (Germany, UK, US); dealers; subcontractors; associations; partners; general contractors and customers.

An ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with diverse teams is a key function of the role due to the breadth of the market and portfolio offered by Yunex Traffic.

This function is reporting to the Director Business Development ANZ.

 

What are the responsibilities?

  • Act as owner of  the Precontracts and Bid Management process across the region, continuing to embed and improve consistency and quality with the teams across Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and beyond as required
  • Lead the utilisation and continuous improvement of pre-tendering material and activities aligned to the region
  • Familiarity with the opportunity pipelines in APAC
  • Implement and identify improvements to business processes to improve pre-tendering responses and/or coordinate resourcing priorities;
  • Contribute to and facilitate collaborative capture and maintenance of  market knowledge including that related to customers, competitors, competing products and services
  • Promote the entire Yunex Traffic product, solutions and service portfolio in the APAC Region
  • Monitor our tendering success rate, such as win/loss, quality and budgets - report to the management team as required;
  • Create and maintain a database of tendering knowledge to improve future responses, including contribution to any benchmarking activities;
  • Keep up to date with Yunex Traffic's portfolio of products and services, in order explain and demonstrate to clients the key features of our products and services;
  • Adhere to Yunex guidelines in terms of pricing, contract and payment terms, compliance, and business conduct guidelines

Requirements

  • Experience successfully leading geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary teams in complex technical bids of AUD 500k – 500m+ for government and private customers in Australia, New Zealand and Asia using Shipley based methodologies
  • APMP Certification for bid, proposal and/or capture management of at least Foundation level
  • Familiarity with the ITS Industry and related fields relevant to the Asia Pacific market for a minimum of 7 years
  • Experience in a similar tendering related role(s) for at least 5 years with exposure to both ANZ and Asian opportunities
  • Education / University degree aligned to the requirements of the role
  • Ability to travel within the Asia Pacific region for up to a week per month on average
