Based out of our Swanick depot in Hampshire, we’re looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer. You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive field-based team helping to inspect and maintain a wide range of ITS assets. If you enjoy learning on the job, working on site and being able to deliver good quality work to customers, we want to hear from you.
Experience is something but equally important is your character and approach to work. We are looking for someone with an excellent work ethic, who’s flexible and keen to learn and we can support you with a career in the traffic signals industry.
Key to this is the importance of health and safety at work, a willingness to learn and work as part of a team. We’d love you to have electrical aptitude, but Traffic industry background isn’t essential as we will provide you with training and accreditation.
What will you do?
- Maintain and inspect traffic signals including servicing, upgrading, and troubleshooting of signal heads, controllers, ancillary equipment, and highways systems
- Complete electrical tests, periodic inspections with electrical testing and upgrade activities
- Ensure work in completed to a high and safe standard, to specifications and on time
- Liaise with contractors and customers on site
- Accurately analyse, and process fault and asset data to support contract and asset performance reporting
- Support emergency repairs and out of hours work to support contract requirements (on a team rota basis)
- Complete mandatory product training and industry and highways sector scheme accreditation
- Be aware of safety at work and be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimizing them
Who are you?
- You enjoy learning new activities, picking up new jobs confidently and working on site
- You have an electrical qualification or experience in installation, maintenance and/or testing of equipment
- You’re helpful and willing to use your own initiative
- You enjoy working outside and are comfortable working safely and a at height
- You have good attention to detail and enjoy troubleshooting
- You enjoy working towards the team’s goals, and work well with other people
- Willingness to work unsociable hours on a fair rota basis to ensure work can be completed
- You need a full driving licence and be based within commutable distance from XX
