Software Development Manager

We are seeking a Software Development Manager to support Yunex’s projects for road tunnels and highways in Singapore. In this role you will lead an international software development team for the agile software delivery of an Integrated Traffic and Plant Management System (ITPMS). You will be responsible for defining user needs, managing requirements and backlog, coordinating technical delivery, and ensuring integration with automation and DevOps teams.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Lead software development, collaborate daily with developers, automation, and DevOps engineers to deliver ITPMS modules.
  • Validate development approach and provide domain direction during sprints in alignment with agile methodologies.
  • Elicit and document detailed user and interface requirements via workshops, mock-ups, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog; refine user stories with clear acceptance criteria for each sprint.
  • Oversee deployment of software releases; ensure compatibility and system stability during on-site verification and commissioning.
  • Validate that the delivered software meets both functional requirements (ITPMS features) and interface specifications (PLC, legacy systems).
  • Act as primary liaison between Yunex’s Headquarters (HQ) software development team, local SW development teams, and system integrators; communicate progress, dependencies, risks, and trade-off decisions.
  • Facilitate sprint reviews and backlog grooming sessions; support acceptance testing and sign-off.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of software product ownership, product management, or development management experience in agile project contexts.
  • Proven experience managing backlog creation, refinement, and prioritization in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe).
  • Basic technical understanding of backend software development (Go or Python), container tech (Docker, Kubernetes), and message-driven architecture (Kafka).
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of leading technical discussions and aligning cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in software infrastructure projects—integrating new systems with existing infrastructures preferred (brownfield projects).
  • Experience working with DevOps tools and release pipelines; understanding Kubernetes deployments and CI/CD processes.
  • Agile certifications (CSPO, POPM) or product management credentials will be considered as an asset.
  • Scrum master certification (PSM I or PSM II or similar) will be considered as an asset.

Benefits

  • Collegiate team and positive company culture
  • Flexible working arrangement
  • Attractive company benefit programs provided
