An exciting opportunity is available for an aspiring and motivated Accountant to apply their strong accounting acumen in a small – medium sized global company. The Accounting Professional will be responsible to support our businesses in Australia, Hong Kong, China and Singapore on day-to-day accounting activities, global reporting, month end closing and general accountancy tasks. For the Singapore entity, GPFS preparation and tax reporting activities will be required. This role is based in our Singapore office and will be reporting directly to the Head of Accounting Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Your key responsibilities will include:
- First point of contact point for implementation of Accounting policies, guidelines and standards, and adaptation of related procedures and processes for across the APAC region.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements for all assigned legal entities, including Statutory Financial Statements for Singapore & Australia, and provide accounting guidance support for entities in Hong Kong and China.
- Ensure regular closings are performed on time and with collaboration of shared business partners and overseas colleagues – support financial stakeholders with financial reporting details.
- Overseeing the transactional services provided by external shared service provider organisation.
- Close checking of monthly accounting reports and variations specifically for the China and Hong Kong operations.
- Identification of process improvement potentials in accounting processes and proposing of remedial measures or projects.
- First point of contact for the financial and commercial teams for accounting-related matters such as clarification of business cases and transactions as far as accounting is concerned.
- Ownership of regional closing process via SAP, YonYou and Tagetik (Group’s consolidation system).
- Ensure accurate consolidation of small non-SAP based companies in Singapore and Australia (affiliates Aimsun and ATC).
- Close cooperation with local tax advisory, GPFS providers for closing activities, annual audits and any accounting-related tasks (Impairment Assessments, Right of Use calculations etc).
- Cooperation with external stakeholders such as auditors, statutory authorities and/or banks.
- Facilitate month end clearing including checking and approving the Journal Entries in SAP, assisting Business Unit Commercial for JV preparation in complying with Group’s Chart of Account, preparation of Trial Balances and uploading to Group’s consolidation system.
- Complete ownership of correct cost allocation across business units, regions and boarders in cooperation with peers in other states and countries (internal charging, cost center recoveries, journal vouchers etc)

The successful candidate shall demonstrate the following experience & skills:
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Singapore Chartered Accountant or similar chartered accountant qualification is required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role across APAC, or within APAC countries.
- Mandarin and Cantonese language skills are required and good written and verbal English is mandatory.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS and SFRS accounting, especially on construction contracts accounting.
- Experience and track record in preparing GPFS.
- Microsoft office applications advanced knowledge.
- SAP knowledge, in particular in S/4 HANA, is a plus.
