Yunex Traffic is looking for aspiring undergraduates to join our Business Excellence team on a 12-month internship contract as part of our Intern Development Programme.

This includes intersection and pedestrian traffic controllers, intelligent urban traffic control systems, variable message signs, public transport, and car park guidance systems to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow in congested urban and inter-urban areas.

Here is a taste of what you can expect from this internship:

As an Intern in the Global Sustainability and Strategy Team, you will play a key role in supporting the Sustainability Manager in implementing the Sustainability Strategy across the Yunex Traffic. You will have the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of a company ESG Framework and how to implement it cross functionally and cross regionally in an effective and organized manner. • Work closely with the Sustainability Manager in delivering the broader sustainability strategy and other related projects.
• Communicate the ESG Framework cross functionally and cross regionally, and interact with all contributing functions closely such as Human Resources, Real Estate, Business Excellence, Legal & Compliance, Cybersecurity, Procurement & Logistics, supporting these functions upon need to deliver the required input in time
• Organise and maintain ESG KPIs into accessible format under new directives
• Support the Yunex Traffic cross-functional Sustainability team to fulfil legal requirements e.g. from the European Union (EU) Commission such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), EU Taxonomy, and look into upcoming regulations like Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
• Showcase Sustainability stories and case studies and highlights internally and externally
• Support the Yunex Traffic cross-functional Sustainability team on the input for the Yunex Traffic Sustainability Report
• Engage with ESG Support Functions eg. Real Estate, Fleet, and Procurement to ensure ESG measure implementation
• Support the Yunex Traffic cross-functional Sustainability team on the key performance indicator (KPI) reporting for Environment Social Governance (ESG) towards our Shareholders
• Reporting compliance regarding audit corrective actions and internal controls
• Support the Yunex Traffic cross-functional Sustainability team on internal reporting to ensure proper implementation of proceedings and for transparency towards employees

The location of this role will be: Poole, Dorset.

Our offices are based 2.5 miles outside Poole city centre and half an hour from Bournemouth. There are frequent direct bus services as well as ample free onsite parking.

The candidate

We are looking for forward-thinking, inquisitive candidates who demonstrate the following characteristics:

• Studying for their bachelor’s degree, ideally in a Sustainability related subject

Additionally, you will be:

• Detail orientated, with excellent research and analytical skills
• Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel
• A strong communicator, written and verbal, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to multi-task, working on many activities and be aware of multiple deadlines
• Able to communicate positively and confidently, with Senior Stakeholders, and colleagues, both Local and Global

Whilst not essential, it would be a bonus if you already have:

• Experience and understanding of sustainability and carbon emissions reporting
• A strong interest in Sustainability and Environmental issues

Recruitment Process

Applications for this Internship will close on 6th March 2025.

If you are successful with your application, we will invite you to an interview with the hiring team in person at our Poole site. These interviews are typically competency based and a chance for us to find out what your motivations are for your next career. We aim to complete all interviews early April 2025.

For this role, you may also be asked to attend an assessment centre, where we will be able to find out more about you and your passions, as well as your future career goals.

Our Interns will join the business on 1st September 2025, so you must be available from this date.

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to sponsor anyone joining us on our Internship Development Programme who doesn’t have valid right to work in the UK.
