Responsibilities:
- Preparation for, and test of electronic equipment in accordance with specifications.
- Recognise faults in equipment on test and initiate corrective action, recording faults and reporting as necessary.
- Record and report test faults as required.
- Identify faulty equipment using ATE or similar test equipment.
- Recognise faults on test equipment, initiate action for repair.
- Use computer-based test equipment and diagnostic software programmes.
- Test equipment using special test aids devised and built by others.
- Production batch testing of equipment identifying faulty items as appropriate. Make recommendations for throughput improvements of such tests.
- May be required to manage a particular batch of product for test/ repair/ refurbishment.
- May be required to work at customer’s premises on occasions
- Working knowledge of current MS office applications. Ability to use the Materials Management System will be required after appropriate training. Use of specific computer-based test equipment and department specific databases will be required.
- Rework product to IPC 7711 & 7721
- Manage Assets for calibration.
- Conduct maintenance checks on Trolleys / Bench ESD testing as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- City & Guilds level or above in an Electrical/Electronic discipline, or substantial appropriate work experience may negate the need for formal qualifications
- Working knowledge of current MS office applications. Ability to use the Materials Management System will be required after appropriate training. Use of specific computer-based test equipment and department specific databases will be required.
- Able to manage calibration of shop floor equipment
- Proven experience in training others in all aspects of the role
- Experience in writing or modify SOPs or work instructions
