Planning Manager

Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Planning Manager to lead our Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. This role requires coordinating diverse information streams, driving change in planning processes, and ensuring alignment with global business direction and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

SIOP:

• Coordinate and consolidate demand information from internal and external customers.
• Proactively engage with customers and sales teams in all markets to understand their pipelines, business direction, and potential manufacturing demand implications.
• Engage with the UK strategy deployment process to understand demand over the different forecast horizons and ensure we are planning manufacturing capacity accordingly.
• Review new business opportunities or products to understand manufacturing and supply chain impact.
• Develop and drive analytics to improve the SIOP process, delivering high customer delivery performance and holding the right level of inventory
• Consolidate all inputs into an overall manufacturing view that can be reflected internally and externally, driving operational decisions.
• Act as a point of contact for major projects.

Planning Team:

• Provide day-to-day support, leadership, development, and guidance.
• Offer help on specific products or areas regarding their product line responsibilities.
• Coordinate and balance planning activities within the team.

Planning Systems and Data:

• Drive change in planning processes to ensure standards are aligned with the changing needs of products and customer expectations.
• Be a key stakeholder in key manufacturing innovation projects.
• Provide data and reporting of the SIOP picture for internal and external views appropriate to each audience.
• Provide data and information to support planning and procurement decisions.
• Proactively stay up to date with the latest developments in the field to ensure we are using the latest technology to improve our processes.

Operations:

• Provide support and guidance to production supervisors and managers.
• Ensure that demand and capacity status is clear at all required levels of the manufacturing operation. Be prepared to escalate effectively when gaps need to be addressed.
• Link production cells to ensure planning and demand are well coordinated.
• Facilitate larger projects, bids, and opportunities to ensure customer requirements are met without impacting business as usual.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a planning or operations management role.
• Strong and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with SAP.
