Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Yunex Traffic is currently in search of a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer.

Position Overview: As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Yunex Traffic, you will help us deliver high quality products and form a pivotal role in lifecycle (designing, integrating, testing, and maintaining) the mechanical aspects of our products.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, internal and external customers will be key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

• Utilize 3D CAD design tools (Autodesk Inventor), our 3D printers and rapid prototyping techniques for your design development.
• Conduct and document mechanical design calculations using both manual and computational techniques (FEA).
• Demonstrate creativity and innovation in your designs.
• Apply your strong understanding of manufacturing techniques, including fabrication, sheet metal, and plastic injection moulding.
• Familiarity with designing to meet the demanding requirements on outdoor equipment such Ingress protection and wind-loading.
• Collaborate and influence with internal and external design teams – helping to understand requirements and develop optimised design solutions.

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.

Non-Essential but useful:

• Appreciation of electronic and electrical systems.
• Experience in mechanical testing for validation.
• Familiarity with standards such as BS EN 1991-1-4, BS EN40, TSRGD, and DMRB.
