Do you want to make a difference with the work you do? Join us as an HR Administrator on a 12 month fixed term contract.
As our HR Administrator, you’ll be a key player in ensuring the smooth running of HR processes across the full employee lifecycle from onboarding and contractual changes to payroll preparation and offboarding. You’ll maintain accurate employee data, support managers and colleagues with routine queries, and help ensure that everything we do aligns with organisational policies, employment legislation, and data protection standards.
Responsibilities:
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date employee records in the HR system.
- Coordinate onboarding tasks to ensure day 1 readiness, including right‑to‑work checks, DBS checks, and occupational health clearances.
- Process employee lifecycle changes such as promotions, contractual amendments, salary updates, working pattern changes, and absences.
- Support offboarding processes and ensure timely completion of documentation and system updates.
- Produce HR reports and workforce metrics as required.
- Prepare HR correspondence and ensure documents are stored in line with GDPR and retention policies.
- Serve as the first point of contact for routine HR and payroll queries.
- Signpost employees and managers to HR policies and self‑service tools.
- Escalate complex, sensitive, or non‑routine matters to the Head of HR.
Payroll Preparation
- Maintain payroll related employee data to support monthly payroll.
- Review payroll information and liaise with the payroll provider to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
- Ensure changes comply with payroll cut‑off dates and internal controls.
Compliance & HR Support
- Ensure HR processes comply with legislation and organisational policies.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects, training, audits, and ongoing initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR administrative processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential
- Strong administrative experience in a busy office environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy especially when working with employee or payroll data.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Desirable
- Experience in HR or HR/payroll administration.
- Familiarity with HR systems integrated with payroll such as SuccessFactors or SAP.
- Understanding of UK employment legislation.
