Our Consultancy Services team deliver a wide range of traffic engineering and consultancy projects across the UK and internationally. We are dedicated to providing a professional approach to diverse transport engineering problems and work with our customers to provide a high quality and reliable service delivering sustainable and innovative solutions.

Purpose of the role

This is a dynamic, customer facing role where you will take full responsibility for the delivery of a wide range of ITS related consultancy projects including, but not limited to:

• Transport planning/modelling
• Feasibility
• Connected Mobility
• Electromobility
• Enforcement
• Air Quality
• Innovation
• Funding
• Asset Management

You will be responsible for these projects throughout the full project life cycle i.e. from early stages of bids and tenders; to customer requirements capture, technical delivery, financial project management, to on-going customer support. This role will require close working with other parts of the Consultancy Services team proving design assistance across a range of disciplines.

The Graduate Programme is completed whilst carrying out this role which includes a number of training courses and associated development activities. You will also be involved in a group ‘business improvement project’ where you will research and provide improvement recommendations for your chosen project. You will have the opportunity to present your project to our Senior Management Team.

Areas of responsibility and tasks

• Assist in the delivery of a wide range of consultancy projects across the UK in accordance with current national/local standards, guidance and best practice
• Assessment and mitigation of risks associated with each project
• Travel to site visits and customer meetings with overnight stays where appropriate
• Preparation of technical reports and specifications
• Preparation of consultancy quotations

Knowledge & Skills

The key competencies and capabilities for this role are:

• High level of communication skills, both verbal and written, will be necessary as you will be expected to liaise with other parts of the business and with customers
• Ability to research and identify options for complex ITS projects
• Ability to achieve objectives with strict deadlines and manage your own workload
• Enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills
