We're seeking a dynamic Customs Clearance Reporting Specialist to become a pivotal part of our team. As the go-to person for all customs import and export matters, you'll ensure seamless compliance with internal and legal protocols.

The Role:

  • Take charge independently in a fast-paced environment, serving as the primary contact for all customs import and export affairs, ensuring strict adherence to internal and legal guidelines.
  • Expertly handle import and export customs clearance declarations utilizing our in-house customs IT solution.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among internal departments, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required documents to customs brokers, including clearance instructions.
  • Vigilantly monitor import and export processes to ensure compliance with approved brokers for customs clearances.
  • Proactively address inquiries related to customs clearance, facilitating swift movement of goods.
  • Conduct meticulous checks on import and export declarations to guarantee accuracy and compliance with clearance directives.
  • Maintain meticulous records, adhering to HMRC record-keeping standards for import and export documentation.
  • Monitor and reconcile HMRC monthly reports to validate business-related imports and exports, making necessary declaration amendments.
  • Oversee customs duty deferment statements, ensuring alignment with business-related deferred amounts.
  • Validate and reconcile invoices for import and export clearances, collaborating with brokers and finance teams to resolve any billing/payment issues.

Preferred Knowledge/Experience:

  1. Proficiency in understanding HS codes and classification of goods.
  2. Familiarity with customs procedures such as Inward/Outward Processing.
  3. Knowledge of Country of Origin, Preferential Origin, and Free Trade Agreements.
  4. Understanding of Customs value.
  5. Familiarity with HMRC simplification CFSP.
  6. Experience with SAP.
  7. Understanding of duty deferment accounts.
  8. Competency in completing import/export declarations.
