Position Overview

Yunex Traffic is seeking an Engineering Manager  for traffic and systems engineering to join the team in Miami, Florida. With at least 15 years in progressively responsible positions in intelligent traffic system (ITS) solutions and infrastructure project business the Engineering Manager will lead and develop a team of traffic and system engineers in the acquisition and implementation of complex ITS road traffic control and management projects. The role requires related experience as well as having worked with Florida regulations. The initial focus will be leading the team through an infrastructure upgrade project of almost 3000 intersections to the latest controller, integrating central traffic control technology and providing engineering services and solutions.

 

The Senior Technical Project Manager has extensive experience focusing on ATMS and Smart Cities solutions - including ATMS interfaces with Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, Traffic Management, and Adaptive Traffic Control.

The role requires a proven track record of solid leadership, technical, organizational, and communication skills and as well as professional engineering experience in the ITS industry.

 

Minimum Requirements

• 15 years of experience in ITS industry performing and delivering complex projects with outstanding customer satisfaction

• 5 years of experience leading engineering teams of at least 8 employees

• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, leadership and customer intimacy skills

• Experience with the implementation of traffic signal control systems, advanced traffic management, adaptive and V2I solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage an engineering team towards delivering engineering services to develop, provide and integrate additional traffic signal operational features and functions. This includes Adaptive Signal Timing/Solutions, Center-to-Center Transit Signal Priority and other ITS systems

• The above both includes data collection, design and engineering, field deployment, testing and commissioning, documentation, and training as well as other related activities to deliver complete ITS solutions.

• Lead project teams and direct subject matter experts, support functions, and third-party partners to execute customer projects and achieve project and business targets.

• Perform detailed planning of the work packages, the resources needed and time schedule. Organize and supervise the interface, requirements, change, and configuration management.

• Ensure compliance with regards to technical, deadlines, commercial and qualitative project targets

• Define the technical measurement criteria and control factors for the project.

• Identify early deviations in the project and problem causes and proposes sustainable solutions.

• Apply Professional Engineering principles and best industry practices.

• Actively develop engineering staff though training, coaching and continuous improvement programs

• Collaborate with other engineering team to apply lessons learned and best practices.

• Organize and moderate engineering workshops, trainings, and technical presentations.

• Foster a zero defect and zero harm culture.
