Purpose of the role

 

Yunex Traffic is seeking an experienced Service Delivery Supervisor to join it’s growing Melbourne based team. The ideal candidate will hold a Victorian Electrical Licence and have recent experience supervising works in the Victorian Traffic Signal and ITS industries. 

 

The ITS Service delivery supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance and installation activities are carried out safely, in line with technical specifications, with the correct resource levels and are delivered to customer expectations.

 

The role has direct line management responsibility for a team of ITS & TCS Technicians, who have the primary responsibility for the Installation, maintenance and inspection of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) assets and Traffic Control signals (TCS), ancillary equipment, and other highways electrical systems.

 

You will be responsible for overseeing works on TCS and ITS assets in line with Yunex, legislative and customer contractual requirements. Maintenance works can be of a planned or reactive nature, and you will have the ability to respond to a changing environment.

 

Areas of responsibility and tasks

 

  • Line management responsibility for field technicians.
  • Planning of installation and maintenance activities and ensuring all works are well planned to include appropriate materials, resources and coordinated to customers schedules
  • Assessment and mitigation of risks associated with traffic engineering projects. Liaison stakeholders for Road Occupancy License (ROL’s)
  • Be responsible for the Health & Safety of your direct reports
  • Be responsible for the development and performance management of your direct reports
  • Have regular customer contact, to establish feedback against current works and, also, to gather an understanding of any potential future opportunities.
  • Undertake appropriate training with the addition of new equipment and systems as and when necessary, via formal and informal training, including on the job training.
  • Deliver a wide range of traffic engineering projects across the state in accordance with current national/local standards, guidance, and best practice.
  • Be responsible for the project management of each allocated project including financial tracking to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested within the skills required for the role
  • Preparing monthly reports to our customers regarding contract performance, KPI’s and other key metrics.

Required Experience & Qualifications

 

It is required to have a technical knowledge in all the following, and hold the relevant qualifications and licenses:

 

  • Vic Roads, Section 730 – Traffic Signal Installation
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in traffic signal installation works as described in Traffic Management Services (Contractor) GROUP Categories and Levels Eligibility Criteria
  • Minimum period of four years relevant field experience during the previous six years 
  • Knowledge of TCS and ITS products from across the industry
  • Traffic Signal Controller training course certification
  • SCATS knowledge  
  • Driving Licence (Full)
  • AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules
  • VIC Electrical Licence
