We’re looking for an Electrical Lead Installation Operative. You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive field-based team based in the Midlands, with a depot base in Leicester however as this is a site based role the position is home based. You will be helping to inspect and maintain a wide range of ITS assets. If you enjoy learning on the job, working on site and being able to deliver good quality work to customers, we want to hear from you.

 

What will you do?

  • Installation of traffic signal assets (including the installation and wiring of controllers), ancillary equipment and/or highways systems unsupervised or as part of a team
  • Complete electrical tests and pre-commissioning activities
  • Responsible for installation teams and the management of sub-contractors on-site
  • Liaising with customers and other contractors that may be on site
  • Ensuring works are completed in accordance with the site specification, in a timely manner and to a sufficient quality level
  • Responsible for undertaking site inductions
  • Out of hours working to support service and installation contract requirements
  • Successful completion of mandatory NHSS training requirements
  • All employees have a duty to comply with all Health and Safety Procedures and to be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possible

 

Who are you?

  • Ideally have industry experience and/or strong electrical and product installation experience
  • Ideally HNC / ONC/ City and Guilds or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or similar
  • You’re co-operative, helpful, willing to use your initiative
  • You're able to manage multiple complex tasks, staff and organise materials, employees and sub-contractors
  • You are accurate, reliable and enjoy getting things right first time
  • You’re able to communicate clearly, work well with others, and promote good team morale
  • You’re confident working with IT equipment include a tablet and laptop and can learn new software
  • Must hold full UK Driving License and we provide a company vehicle and tools for the job
  • You enjoy working outside and at heights and have a strong understanding of safe working practices
