We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Installation Operative to join our team in Glasgow. As part of the installation team, you will install and inspect traffic signals, ancillary equipment and/or highways systems in a highly varied role with lots of opportunities to learn. Traffic industry experience isn’t essential if you enjoy working on site, being part of a team, problem solving and learning on the job; we'd like to hear from you!

 

What will you do?

  • You’ll support the installation traffic signal assets (including the installation and wiring of controllers), ancillary equipment and/ or highways systems unsupervised or as part of a team
  • Work on various sites each day and be able to manage varied and sometimes complex tasks
  • Complete electrical tests and pre-commissioning checks
  • Support feedback and updates to customers and other contractors on site
  • Ensuring works are completed in accordance with the site specification, to a high standard and on time
  • Successful completion of mandatory product and industry accreditation training
  • Out of hours working to support service and contract requirements
  • In accordance with the Company Zero Harm H&S Policy and culture, be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possible

 

Who are you?

  • Ideally you have an electrical qualification and/or electrical experience with experience working on site
  • You’ve able to use your initiative and enjoy troubleshooting
  • You’re co-operative, helpful, and hard working
  • You’re willing to be open to change and enjoy learning new things
  • You are accurate, reliable and able to get things right first time
  • You work towards goals, can manage your assigned workload and work well with others
  • You communicate well and contribute to good team morale
  • You’re confident working with IT equipment include a tablet and laptop
  • Must hold full UK Driving License and we provide a company van and tools for the job
  • You’re comfortable working outside and at height
