Underground Service Alert Mark Out Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Underground Service Alert Mark-out Technician: Works on locating and marking infrastructure assets and public owned utilities prior to excavation for various customers throughout San Diego County.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicating with Office and City staff regarding tickets (orders) to be marked.
• Locating and marking in field assets as needed prior to excavation.
• Utilizes hand tools, shovels, and concrete equipment when maintaining, removing, or installing new underground conduit and related equipment.
• Performs maintenance on traffic lighting fixtures, cameras and other housings when needed, utilizing hand and power tools.
• Provides periodic on-call services.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a USA Mark-out Technician within the ITS industry preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a ground laborer, handling materials and hand tools preferred.
• Prior work experience in traffic, road work preferred.
• May be required to get IMSA Work Zone Safety certification.
• Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical exam and drug test, have a valid driver's license, and clear driving record.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Must be able and willing to work at heights typically associated with installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic signals and streetlights.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Must adhere to environmental, health and safety regulations, work procedures and guidelines.
• Must have basic hand tools, other specialized tools will be provided by the company.

Yunex Traffic follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely for up to 50% of their scheduled time. Working collaboratively in the office allows for in-person group thinking and building on teamwork. Our positions are designed so that a person is within commuting distance from many of our regional offices within the United States.
