What will be your project?

The increasing density of traffic in cities and its impact on the environment is a real challenge for us. That's why we are creating Sitraffic Symphony - the next generation of advanced traffic management. Our customers include Brno, Prague, and hundreds of cities around the world.

Brief project description:

• Traffic monitoring and control in cities and on highways
• Incident & roadwork management
• Traffic prioritization, e.g., for public transport and emergency vehicles
• Traffic optimization concerning traffic flow and air quality
• Communication with connected vehicles (V2X)

What will be your job duties?

• In your new role, you will be part of one of several agile development teams building innovative large-scale traffic management applications deployed in cities around the world.
• You will develop web-based applications throughout the development lifecycle.
• You will actively participate in all agile ceremonies and interact with your team, product owner, and colleagues across the company to make our product a success.
• You will take responsibility for the development of complete modules and guide younger colleagues.
• You will also be responsible for product quality, fixing bugs, and extending automated tests.
• As SW Engineer you will closely contribute to the development and maintenance of frameworks for monitoring, automation, and code to increase the scalability and reliability of the service.
• Your participation will be also in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and supporting the product release and deployment.
• You will be strongly responsible for applications of the latest technologies, SaaS architecture, and design patterns that lead long term scalable, stable, high-quality, and flexible cloud solutions with security.
• You will assist both internal and customer-facing teams with the deployment of new software releases, VPN, and other related security infrastructure interfacing.
• You will contribute to the automation of manual tasks, such as the provisioning of users in production and test environments.

What skills and qualifications do you need to be a part of our team?

• 3 years of experience in backend development and very well-versed in Java.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in a DevOps/Infrastructure team.
• Very good knowledge in at least two of the following technologies is important to us: Spring Boot, Microservices, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting languages (Python).
• Perfect understanding of Linux or Windows and confident handling of development environments and tools (Eclipse or IntelliJ, Maven, Jenkins, Git, JIRA, Confluence).
• Fluent in English (English is our working language)
• Good experience in setting CI/CD pipelines and automation cycles and scripting in Bash Unix Shell/JavaScript.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes deployment and maintenance.

What other extras will we appreciate? 

• It is an advantage if you are familiar with web security, IAM/keycloak, OAuth 2.0, and/or image hardening.
• You have a passion for agile development and a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge and experience with the SAFe framework is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps/Site Reliability and Operations Engineer work.
• Openness to implementing new ideas into real technical solutions and sharing your knowledge.
• Knowledge of the German language.

We impact the mobility of hundreds of thousands of passengers every day. We are focusing on being innovators. Brno is one from our DevOps centres. We are focused on autonomous traffic control, where we work closely with several pilot customers on the development of new products and our systems are currently tested at several intersections in Brno.
