Full Stack Java Developer for Urban Mobility Platform (m/f)

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a new colleague at mid-level with a full-stack profile and a strong Java foundation. You will design, develop and maintain product modules in Java and JavaScript, with substantial use of AI development tools. The role combines software development, testing, CI/CD, deployment and operational ownership.

You will work on Yutraffic Symphony, our next-generation platform for urban traffic control and mobility management. The platform helps cities monitor, manage and optimise traffic across cloud and on-premises environments. This role focuses on modules deployed primarily to Kubernetes clusters, while also supporting legacy virtual machines during their ongoing migration to Kubernetes

What will be your responsibilities?

Build and evolve software for smarter urban mobility

• Design, develop and maintain Yutraffic Symphony product modules in Java and JavaScript, using AI development tools in day-to-day engineering. 
• Build unit tests, perform manual testing and support the development of automated tests. 
• Maintain CI pipelines in GitLab. 
• Deploy and maintain modules primarily in Kubernetes development and staging environments. 
• Support modules running in legacy virtual machines and contribute to their migration to Kubernetes. 
• Take an active part in code reviews, with a focus on quality and testability. 
• Support the resolution of production issues when needed. 
• Evaluate and address software vulnerabilities, including CVE findings, when needed. 

What do you need to qualify for the role? 

• Strong Java skills, including experience with Java 8, 11 or 17+.
• Practical JavaScript experience, including vanilla JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm and Docker.
• Confident use of Git and GitLab or a similar platform, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Good Linux knowledge, including shell, Bash and standard commands.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Kafka. 
• You can communicate in English (you will work with colleagues from abroad on a daily basis).

We would appreciate it if you also have the following:

• Experience with AI-assisted or agentic development tools such asClaude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar.
• Experience with SSH and object databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience with ActiveMQ and React.
• Experience with Argo CD, Qooxdoo or AWS.
• Experience with Python or ClearCase.
