PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Objectives
The Returns technician will focus on the technical aspect of our customer care program. The Returns Technician will be responsible for identifying product issues and administering the corrective action to restore the item to working condition. . This role will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and will be responsible for providing excellent customer support by servicing technical issues, and reporting the status and outcomes to customers. Working in this position, your job on a day-to-day will be to process returns and create a detailed log of your transactions with customers. Following good manufacturing practice guidelines will be essential, promptly following up with correspondence.
Responsibilities
- Perform various duties to accomplish disassembly, rework, repair, inspection, assembly, final process and associated operations on various products utilizing proper procedures and techniques in order to conform with quality standards
- Itemize parts requirements for repairs, initiate necessary documents to properly control the repairs process
- Perform work in accordance with various work instructions such as service manuals, workbooks, service bulletins, technical orders, blueprints, customer service instructions and other written and verbal instructions within established methods and procedures
- Ensure that all documentation such as specifications, procedures and forms and applicable tools and fixtures are quality compliant and traceable
- Perform required testing and maintain results as required.
- Work with current technicians if required to supplement current production lines.
- Perform a variety of material control and handling duties such as unloading, receiving, storing, disbursing, packaging and shipping material and equipment.
- Input customer requirements and data into a database.
- Ability to communicate repair status to customers and internally, written and verbal communications skills are critical.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Printed Circuit Boards. Assembling, repairing, identifying failures, testing repairs
- High standards of quality
- Experience with attending to and delivery of repaired products in timely fashion
- Experience and high comfort level with electronic components
- Experience working with hand tools, and precision tools in electrical environment
- Comfortable working in time pressure testing environment
- Experienced Documenting, writing reports, procedures, processes on the repairs
- Strong communicator, with internal team, direct supervisor, leadership and customer.
Education and Experience:
Minimum three years of experience in a return materials position.
Preferably a completed associate degree in electronics or materials testing
