Traffic Signal Supervisor positions plan, assign, train and supervise the work of subordinates and support staff in the installation, maintenance, modification and repair of traffic signals and related components; determine new work procedures, materials and equipment needed; estimate job costs; establish preventive maintenance plans; and perform other duties as assigned.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Traffic Signals Technician Supervisor oversees and manages the daily operations of signal technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing traffic signal technology.
    • Coordinates division/section activities, evaluates operational needs, and assigns work activities.
    • Provides guidance and supervision to assigned personnel.
    • Develops operating procedures and tracks operating information.
    • Inspects job sites as needed.
    • Recommends specifications for equipment and materials.
    • Investigates citizen/consumer complaints and resolves issues.
    • Develops division operating and CIP budgets.
    • Monitors division expenditures.
    • Attends meetings as a section representative.
    • Ensures projects are completed on time.
    • Adheres to inventory management procedures for the Signal Technician work group.

 

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for full supervisory activities, including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

    •  Knowledge of electrical codes, traffic control devices, construction practices, and relevant policies.
    • Minimum five years of experience in Traffic Systems
    • Minimum two years of experience as A Supervisor or Formen leading team of technicians in the field.
    • Familiarity with surge suppression, radio frequency communications, power supply systems, and fiber optics networks.
    • Understanding of ADA requirements and applicable traffic signals and systems.
    • Basic computer and internet networking knowledge.
    • Proficiency in supervisory techniques and inventory management practices.

Yunex Traffic follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely for up to 50% of their scheduled time. Working collaboratively in the office allows for in-person group thinking and building on teamwork. Our positions are designed so that a person is within commuting distance from many of our regional offices within the United States.
