Maintenance Engineer -  CCTV / ANPR

Working from our Lowton depot located near Leigh in Greater Manchester you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of ANPR cameras in and around the North West region. 

As a field based Engineer a company vehicle will be provided, therefore a full driving licence is essential.

 

What are your responsibilities

  • Installation and maintenance of ANPR camera in line with the manufacturer’s standards, design drawings, technical specification, and customer requirements.
  • Able to complete technical surveys, ensuring the accurate return of data within agreed timescales
  • Attend, repair and resolve faults to the highest of standards and in the safest possible manner
  • Be able and willing to deploy traffic Management equipment where this is required to support the timely repair of faults.
  • Be able to communicate daily via phone and email to both internal stakeholders and directly with Customers
  • Manage your own workload to ensure contractual KPI are achieved and that all elements of the Service Level Agreement are met
  • Update and manage the Siemens fault management system via electronic means including phone, tablet and laptop
  • Management and completion of periodic inspection on the install base in-line with the agreed schedule
  • Full and accurate completion of electronic paperwork created in relation to faults and inspections
  • Be able to work at height utilising ladders and powered access equipment
  • Complete electrical tests, periodic inspections with electrical testing and pre-commissioning activities
  • Work as part of a dynamic and adaptable team as well as a self-motivated individual
  • Manage, supervise, and work alongside sub-contract resource employed to support the delivery of the contract in areas such as Civil Engineer or Traffic Management
  • Be able and willing to work ‘on street’ in all weather
  • Be part of an out of hours callout rota, providing support across your customer base in the event of high priority faults
  • Analyse data to assess performance of equipment within contractual requirements, ensuring correct storage of information once process complete
  • Complete mandatory NHSS (National Highways Sector Scheme) training requirements
  • Be supportive and fully engaged with all aspects of working safely at work.  Be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimizing them wherever possible by following all Health and Safety Procedures and reporting any events, incidents and Near misses to support the Siemens Zero Harm culture

The Maintenance Engineer (You)

We are looking for an experienced Installation & Maintenance Engineer to support our North West Clean Air Zone/ANPR camera operations.  If you believe you have what it takes to be part of a dynamic and diverse team and have experience in any or all of the following; Electrical Maintenance, CCTV, Bus Lance Camera enforcement or Car Park ANPR systems, this is for you. 

Your great technical skills coupled with your self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability to a continuously changing business environment will be key to this role. Initially, you will be integral to the successful delivery of a large Clean Air Zone project, utilising your mechanical and electrical skills you will be working on multiple sites per day installing, aligning, maintaining and commissioning ANPR cameras.  Completion of inspections and attendance to faults, alongside any other duties associated with the contract and our delivery operations form part of this role.  You will move from one activity or work area to another quickly and effectively, learning new activities, picking up new jobs confidently and easily.

  • Someone with electrical engineering qualification or equivalent experience in the installation and maintenance of sensitive electronic equipment and the testing of electrical installations and systems
  • Someone with experience of working with hand and power tools
  • Someone who is co-operative, helpful and willing to use their own initiative
  • Someone who is willing to change and adapt, learn new activities, pick up new jobs confidently and easily
  • Someone with good IT skills who can use all manner of IT equipment and has the ability and confidence to work with various devices, including smart phones and tablets, on a daily basis
  • Experience of working outside, at height and around members of the public and road users
  • Someone with good attention to detail, reliable with a can-do attitude
  • Someone who can work on their own or as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outside and work at heights

Preferred, but not essential:

  • Experience of working on traffic signal equipment
